I just got my new bulbs.:jumping: Coralvue MH 10K's.
I replaced my Hamilton 10k's.
Not much difference in the pics, but the new bulbs are slightly whiter than the Hamiltons. Not bad for $50 bulbs.

I agree that for 50$ . . . not bad. It appears that they may be brighter . . . however it could also be the color. I am using the red brain for reference. Either way . . .
OK . . . I gotta ask . . . What the hell are live tools? I have wondered this for a long time now.

dburr,
When you say whiter do you mean the hamiltons were a little more on the blue side or the yellow side?
Thanks

My one month old XM 10k bulb cracked when some water got splashed on to it. I have a coralvue on it's way to replace it and am anxious to see the difference between the two.
I would have stuck with the XM (I am VERY happy with it) but the coralvue was over $10 cheaper.

Hamilton is a little more blue, Coralvue is alittle more white.

It was a toss up between the 2 for me, I think the price was what made up my mind.
What wattage are those Coralvues burning at?
These are 175's

Live tools are what go on CNC machining centers. They can be radial or axial tools. "live" meaning they turn with bearings inside the heads.

I haven't heard of these before. Are the a PC flourescent? Are they better or newer?

T5s are a high output flourescent and are a newer bulb design that is reported to be as good if not better than PC or VHO when used with a good reflector - time will tell, PC was supposed to replace VHO too....
They look like skinny regular flourescent bulbs.

I am buying a fixture with 2x250W MH and 2xT5 bulbs. I was wondering if anyone else has this type of setup? Do you like it?

The Ushio and AB are proven bulbs and are very good...
BTW, Iwaski doesn't make a 10K bulb

I have been using the coralvue bulbs since October maybe September and I think they are not gonna last to much longer I very seriously doubt you will get a years use out of these bulbs and I got them for like 46.00 a piece when I got them back then. The intensity just does'nt seem to be there anymore and I am getting a little bit of cyano starting to grow.I think if you can't get a year out of the bulbs it is'nt worth it to me.
