What kind of adult snails do you have? You may not want them dead. Saltwater snails are a good thing (most of them), unlike freshwater.

The closest I could find when searching is a Baha (Cerith) snail, small cone shaped,According to the article they are fine, maybe their cleaning the shell of the clams, lets hope they clean and run

Can you post a pic? I'm worried that you have found some type of Black Pyramid snail. I've never heard of it but anything is possible.

Bang I wondered about that but I have never seen a black pyimidal snail either. I have had them that are checkerboard or swirl with the dark patterns but not all black.
I though perhaps he had a mud snail at first.
STill not sure but a pic would be nice.

Whats wrong with the mud snails?

If it were the mud snail that I posted then, if they even thought for a second that the clam was dieing or declining then they would have swarmed over it and there would have been nothing left in a very short time.

So, it would not be a good idea to have a mud snails with a clam?

I have the same thing, some are black and some a white color. They are quite small and the shell resembles a mussel to me. Sort of flat like a mussel shell.
Are these critters okay?
They seem to be on the glass at times, rock and just motoring everywhere.

They would only attack a dying Clam as far as I know. That might make them a good thing to have. It would be better for the dead Clam flesh to be eaten rather than rot & possibly crash the whole tank.

Thanks for the replys I tried to snap a pic but they're to small to show up,They are not eating the clam just on the shell,I do think that they are baby Cerith snails so Its a good thing,Thanks again

My concern is that a Clam shell is not a normal hang-out spot for Cerith Snails. Pyramidillidae Snails eat in a way similar to a mosquito so you won't notice the damage.
