I am ready to buy sand for my new 90 gal tank, My question is..Is there a perfered size Carribbean Arogonite for a DSB..I have seen some that's like a powder and some bigger almost like crushed coral..I do plan on seeding it with l/s as well...Thanks

IMO, the finer the better for a DSB. I have a thinner layer of coarser sand as the top layer on mine, but that is mainly to keep any sandstorms down.

Many types of sand will work. In my experience a size varying from dust to sugar of Oolitic Aragonite sand works best. I've only tested a few types though and there may be a better one.
Finely (powdered) Aragonite:

Fine pure Silica sand:

Oolitic Aragonite sand of varying size:

There is a certain type of sand that works GREAT for DSB's.
Its called Downsouth Play sand and if you have a home Depot you can go there and get it for like $6.99 for a 50pound bag. I got 450 pounds for my 220 and sump!
here's a link:

GQ - did it take a long time for the sand to settle, cloudiness, etc... ? I'm thinking of putting some LS over the top of my HD sand.
