heylookin good so far. the feathery thing you needed identified is a feather duster(comon type of tubeworm) having him in there already is a good sign.
as far as adding other animals goes, the tank has to cycle(chemical levels spike to dangerous levels while bacteria begins to grow) this generally takes 2-3 weeks but you should get a nitrate/nitrite tester. when the levels reach near 0 it will be time to add a couple animals. careful not to add too many at once or the tank could do a 2nd cycle

Thanks for the ifno but the ID was in the last picture not the second to last. its some little branchy thing growing off my LR. theres alot on them.

nothing has really changed in the tank. Just waiting to get some in the tank. im also looking at some MH's to get some time down the road, i found a good deal one (in think?) 30" ( length of tank) and 380w MH for 200 bucks. Thats a good deal right?

I disagree. He's open, he's happy just make sure he gets a little flow.

so what should i go with the feather duster? move him to a rock or leave him in the sand?

You can try to prop him up a little.

all 3 pieces of my LR have little caves in them. should i put him in 1 of those? and do i pick it up with my bare hands?

Did my first water change of about 5 gallons. I tried to move the feather duster but he was stuck one of the pieces of LR pretty good do i didnt bother to take him off and disturb him too much

. but i did move the piece of LR that he was on laying him on another piece, it doesnt look that good but ill move him another time. ~~~PICS COMING SOON~~~

Good looking tank so far, i think you need to look into buying a powerhead or two to create some waterflow. You should also get about 3 times as much live rock, it will be very helpful to ensuring a healthy tank. Other than that everything looks good.

im bringing a sample of my water to my LFS so they can do all the checks and see if its ok to get fish. I might do it tommarow if not friday. i will get more LR and and some powerheads soon. just wanna get my first fish!

I went to LFS today and brought a sample of water. They tested all of it can it was fine and ready for fish. So a sixline wrasse that i've been looking at was still there so i picked him up and he is my first saltwater fish! he is really nice look and a little shy. ill try to get a pic of him.
There are so many views and barely any posts. Can people plz post comments?

It was super hard to get a good pic of him, heres my best try and a video, the video is good tho. i also need a background because wen i take pics my wall color seems so light and the pics dont look as good as they could

My sixline is becoming alot less shy. i got a couple of good pics of him today. im gunna enter him in the fish photography contest. not the best pics, but hey i got nothing to lose and maybe more people will read and comment on this thread.
