ok its been six days and still nothing i try algea sheets, garlic, pellets,flakes,misis,brine and nothing. any suggestions? i really dont what this hippo to die.

Are you sure its not eating the algea sheets while you are not around? My fish tear up algea sheets but because the clip is on the glass right next to me they don't come right up and eat it while I am standing there (well some do, but not the shy ones). Is there any pieces of the algea sheet taken off the following day? I bet the little guy is eating while you are not around, if not I would consider catching it and putting it in a QT tank and working with it in there. It is much easier to get a fish to eat when it is all by itself and comfortable in its surroundings.

Sorry to hear that...before you get another one, check your water parameters, and IMO get a larger one...
And maybe a QT might be a good idea too

thanks for your advice meozer, but i give up with the blue hippo, this one was the fourth one. i wll try the yellow tang, who knows maybe i just cant have a hippo tang.

i cant either my blue hippo died this weekend and tonight i was organizing my microwave top(we use it as a junk spot) and came across Dorie in her bag. I forgot to throw her away after she died...we just put her in a sandwich bag and put her up there. She actually looked healthier dead then her last days alive
