For all those who haven't seen the series, this is one of the better shows on the corals.
The series is called Blue Planet - Seas of Life, the part of the series on right now is called "The Coral Seas". Some magnificent underwater photography.....

(60 minutes) Blue Planet: Seas of Life
Coral Seas
TV-G, CC
Bathed in warm, clear tropical water and brilliant sunlight, coral reefs are the rainforests of the sea. Surrounded by ocean deserts they are rich oases of life. Spectacular numbers make it necessary to stand out to survive.

I just watched it on my brand new 52 inch Samsung 81 series HD TV recording and saving it. Wow it is so much better than the last couple times I watched it on the old fashioned 42 inch tube TV I had. Like being there Yippee!!

I liked watching a trio of powder blue tangs fight off a group of like 200 convict tangs by themselves.

Awesome
......Love it Love it.......... If your a DVD freak like me, you can pick up the entire packaged DVD set on monster or the "site we're not supposed to mention" for around $40..... It's almost one of those must have sets....

I was about to ask what the school of tangs was. I had volume turned down and missed their name. That was a pretty awesome show.

Now that Blu-Ray has won the format war, I'm thinking of picking up a player (when the price drops a bit more) and the first DVD(s) I'll be getting is the boxset of Planet Earth on Blu-ray.

I was stoked to read that the other day... I had a PS3 when they first came out and often wondered how the HD DVD was going to interact with the Blu Ray format... I am pleasantly satisfied now.... WHEW...

I just borrowed an IMAX coral reef movie (don't remember the name) from a fellow reefer, now that would be awesome in blueray.....

It's called Deep Sea 3D Max. Narrarated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. It's got some great cinematography and looks good on TV but that pales in comparison to the IMAX 3D experience. If you haven't seen it @ IMAX, I highly recommend it.

I've watched IMAX Coral Reef Adventure. The video is incredible. Unfortunately, there's a bit too much global warming talk for my tastes. Some of the sound effects (xenia making popping noises) was a bit over the top too.

Yeah, there are a few IMAX ocean docus that I want to see in HD. They used to show some of them on one of the Comcast HD channels called INHD, but that changed to MOJOHD and they pretty much stopped doing those.
