comments on them??? Are they as boring as the LFS make them out to be? How are they in terms of bio loads?

I returned your PM but just so you know, stingrays are the least boring of my fish. They do spend some time motionless, but they also spend a lot of time being quite active. They are somewhat playful and will quickly take to handfeeding. They do produce quite a bit of bioload, though.

for rays you need little rock are and lots of "beach" area. They lay on the sand and hide in it. So If you get I would put two rock piles on each side of the tank and leave the middle wide open.

what size tank do you need and are they reef safe
P.S pics??
With tank size, the bigger the better. As a minimum, I would say that a medium size ray should probably be in a 6 ft x 2 ft tank, (180 gallon). As the ray gets to be over about 10" or so in diameter, I'd say that the tank should have at least 16 sq. ft. (8 ft x 2 ft), or larger.
As far as reef safe, they generally won't eat corals. They will eat inverts and may disturb corals by swimming through them. Also, the corals with stinging cells can irritate the ray's body. But I believe that they can live in a reef if it is designed to accomodate to the ray.
I have pics posted on several other threads... here are some...
