How fast will a Blue tang out grow a 90 gal. reef?

Almost immediately. It's not the size of the fish, it's the need for swimming space. If they don't have a length of horizontal space to "open up" they will get stressed and be succeptible to disease and exhibit anti-social behavior.

What kind of 'blue tang' are we talking about? I think bang is referring to a powder blue, which requires at least a 200 gallon with a lot of swimming space. An Atlantic blue tang grows like a yellow tang and does not need as much horizontal space as the powder blue.

Good question Lion! I was actually thinking Hippo Tang but I really don't know.
