Blue Velvet Nudibranch

It was recently recommended to me that I get a Blue Velvet Nudibranch. SWF rates them as difficult. Can someone tell me why? Does anyone have one?

It will more than likely starve to death in your tank. I don't know why anyone would recommend one to you. It will devour the flatworms in your tank within a week and then have nothing to eat.

I have flatworms and they said that they would be the easiest way to get rid of them. Is this like cleaner wrasse, where they only eat one thing?

I have several in a frag tank that has an over population of flatworms. They have more than doubled in size in the three weeks that I have had them.

Can you post a follow up on your velvets? How big is your frag tank? Have they totally cleaned out the flatworms? I'm going to order at least one and was wondering whether one would be enough or if I should order 2?

Their difficulty is simply that they only eat flatworms so some people will keep them until the flatworms are gone and then trade them into their lfs for credit.
I would only get one even with all of them that you may have. Better yet get a reef safe wrasse. They eat them too. Heck even my green manadarin eats them. He demolished the couple that I had.

The frag tank is 24X36x16. Still have the problem. One velvet got stuck to the intake for the chiller and the other disappeared. Since have added another and a 6 Line Wrasse.
