Thanks Shinok! I never thought I would have a tank like this and I still have a lot to learn. My best advice is go slow and research everything before you make a change or an addition.

i have a 20 gal
i want to upgrade the lights
still cycling though
can u post pics of the lighting?
i have two 50/50 24 watt oddysea

I have two 36 watt power compact fluorescent lights: one lamp is 50% 10,000 K and 50% 7100 K blue and the other lamp is a true actinic 03.
Two 24 watt power compact fluorescents is decent lighting on a 20, especially if it is the long version. You could do your own retrofit kit and build your own hood or you could by an Orbit fixture or an Aqualight fixture that has a metal halide in it.

In my new order I got two huge electric blue hermits. These guys are awesome to watch, but they do their own aquascaping! They are overturning and lifting and moving my frags all over the place! It may be awhile before I get things in order and some updated pics. I hope I can glue down my frags so they cannot move them, but they are mighty strong critters!

ahhhhhhh see this is why my emerald crab only gets to run around my nano for only a couple of weeks. i HATE crabs! they do the same thing in my nano. i keep my emerald in a 5 gal downstairs and only put him in to take care of bubble algae. i feel your pain

HEy bonebreak, do you have anytips on placing zoos so that they look like they have been growing in a particular spot for a long time? NICE TANK!!! My 50 gal had no skimmer for about a month, because i was having trouble getting the pump to take air as well. IT fared fine. Hey big pete im having a horrible bubble algae problem, and was wondering, if you plan on getting rid of any extra emeralds, think of the feast they would have at my place!
