This rearing tank currently has 65 baby Banggai in it (~3/8"). It is plumbed to a very large refugium so the water is replaced automatically about 4 times every hour. There is no ammonia problem. The biggest problem is making sure that each fish gets enough to eat. This first phase lasts about 4 weeks and is very time consuming.

I would like to breed cardinals in the near future. Also seems to be a lot of luck with clowns. Feeding the fry seems to be the difficult part. Any helpful hints Bang Guy?

Well, my "secret" technique depends a lot on the health of the female. If I'm not persistant about feeding her lots of healthy food the babies are smallish and must be fed Artemia Naupalii 3 or 4 times a day for a few days. If I'm diligent about keeping the female in top health the babies are born beefier and I feed them Prawn eggs twice a day. The fish fed Prawn eggs grow at almost twice the rate as the others. The sooner they are eating the Prawn eggs the higher the survival rate.
* Noe * - This ONLY applies to Banggai. All other fish I know of need smaller first foods such as Rotifers or baby Copepods.

Before the fisheries process table shrimp they strip off the eggs. Just recently some unknown company began to sell these eggs as fish food. My LFS orders them for me. The package has no label and I dont know where they are ordered from.
