Bristle Worm?

Just recently added some corals. Ive noticed some type of worm in between my front glass and sand bed. It has some red coloring in it but it doesnt have any spines like a bristle worm and doesnt appear to be segmented. None that i can see. Ive tried to get a pic but it just doesnt come out. I saw it out eating up some stuff under the sand. It made itself some tunnels to get around. Looks like he came from the rock with my mushrooms on it. If not a bristle, what else could it be?

ok closer inspection and it doesnt look anything like a bristle worm. Looks more like a peanut worm. It looks clear. I can see thing moving inside the body when it eats. The head is black and there little tentacles or something on its head. Its about 3" long cant really tell. I guess i dont need to worry to much. or do i?

Once again i take it back. It looks like its about a foot long. Is this going to cause problems? Do i need to remove it?

That's one big worm! Without a picture it's impossible to say what it is though ... try and get one.

I'm leaning towards a Peanut worm.

It has a few very small tentacles from what i can see. Its mouth looks black. I havent seen it come out of the sand. It made tunnels and eats through the sand. I wish i could get a pic. My camera sucks. It just doesnt come out.

holy sh-t a foot long. i thought i had what you were talkin about because there are worms in my tank that make tunnels but they look like they are 1/8 of an inch long. I have no idea what is in your tank but if it is a foot long then that may be a problem

Dunno if its the same worm or not but the rock where its hiding i also noticed hair like things coming out and grabbing stuff off the sand. When i see the worm in the sand i gotta check and see if the hairs are coming out of the live rock. Not sure if its the same worm or not. I guess it could be a hair worm.

Not the same worm. 2 different ones. Damm i got alot of hitchikers on that piece of LR. Got a few tiny feather dusters on it also. Should i just leave these things alone or should i try and rid of them? Problem is they are on a piece of LR with my mushrooms.

So far it sounds to me like you have beneficial worms. Let me know if you ever get a pic of the big one. Most are harmless but there are a few Eunicid sp. that match the description you gave.
