Broken Impeller?

I was wondering if my impeller was broken. It looks to me like it should be in one piece. If it is broken is there any way that I can fix it. If there is no way to fix it how would I go about getting a new impeller or would I need a new pump. It came off of a prizm pro deluxe skimmer. Thanks

It's broke...
What kind of pump did it come from...Rio, Maxi Jet...???
You should be able to get a replacement impeller through your LFS or certainly on line...worst case try the MFG... they may even replace it free...

Have you ever seen an impeller like that come off of a Rio or MJ pump? if so let me know I'd like to try one of those out.

That wasn't an attempt at a "visual" ID... But a prompting to look for a name brand or model number...
So that a proper replacement part (or "comparable" pump) could be found...
It's a process of invoking thought in others... Try to keep up...
Remember..,I'm transmitting...if your not "recieving"...?!?

The pump came with the skimmer. I thought it was a standard pump that came with the skimmer. The website gives no information on the brand of pump.

No Go on the "glueing"...:nope:
I looked up the skimmer... Looks like that's a "special" pump made to "fit" the skimmer body and comes with "their" special 18 blade "Turbo Jet" (semi needle wheel) impeller...
The cheap route would have you contacting the MFG for a new impeller...
The "better" route would have you looking for a new skimmer...
Aqua C Remora Pro for example...

Squidd, Did you see any smilies or other remarks that made you think my question wasn't valid? I've never seen an impeller like, that's why I asked..
Doesn't take much for you to act like an ***H*l*

You can be hard to "read" sometimes too...:D <<notice smile... Perhaps I am too...
"ALL" my posts are best taken with a grain of salt(water) and I too apologise if you misread my intentions (although I "do" use a lot of smilies :D)
But back to the original question...
I have seen this type of impeller (modified needle wheel or "brush) on Ocean Runner and Aqua Medic pumps of various sizes...
And if you have a "box" full of them like I get from time to time you may be able to "cross fit" and shim one into another...
As long as the magnet diameter is close and you can find/make a shaft to fit...
Another "option" to get the same effect is to take the "wide" blade impellers and cut slots in them and then "bend" the tabs slightly to get a "brush like" effect... I did that on a Maxi I was "adapting" during the Sea Clown Modification series....Going for "induction" rather than Venturi effect to increase preformance...(did get "slight" improvement)
Doesn't take much for you to act like an ***H*l*
Actually, I'm more of an "Instant ***H*l*... Just Add Alcohol"

Well being from northern wisconsin I can't imagine there is much to do other than being an instant one.
By the way it was a joke and thank you for your help.

I don't mind the performance of this thing. Granted I have nothing to compare it to but during this time of the year I can't afford a new skimmer. I actually need new light bulbs and convincing my wife to spend $150 - $200 on 5 light bulbs has been quite challenging. How much does the remora go for and do they handle a 125 gallon tank?

Obviously you need to "shop around" but the "Pros" go for right around $200, which is only a few dollars more than the Prizm "Pro", and a good jump from the standard Prizm...
For a 125...??? The Prizm (pro or not) ain't gonna cut it...The Aqua C Pro would be running light, The (my) suggestion would be a Euro reef ES for around $350 or so for that sized tank...
But then you would never have to buy another skimmer...:D
Another "option" is the ASM "ER clones" to save a few bucks...
IMO a "GOOD" skimmer rates right up there with proper lighting, "before" you buy the inhabitants...

The main problem with me buying a "good" skimmer besides money is that I need one that is a hot. At the time I was researching them there wiere only two rated for a 125 gallon tank that was a hang on. The berlin skimmer and the prizm pro skimmer. The prizm seemed to me the better choice.

you need to take MFG "ratings" with a grain of salt...
Like a "Sea Clown 150 will handle a 150 gallon tank"...NOT...:nope: Or the Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 "rated" at 250 gallon... NOT... :nope:
(now the Turboflotor would be OK on a 125)
Most MFGs rate at the MAX size they "might" handle..Euro reef rates at the "best or most effecient" tank sze...
Your best bet in this area is to do a search on the Prizm vs Aqua C for HOB skimmers...
Take the advise of (The majority) of those who have been using them...
