no, i cant advise the use of that skimmer. if you are looking for cheap but still good try the CPR Bak-Pak2 it is around 120$ if you know where to look but the prism is a piece
ive seen ones like that that work well, i whis it would give the maker. I cant quite tell if it is a cheap Knockoff but i can sat it would be better than the prizm and at 22$ its a good deal for any new skimmer
I bought it. I will have a sump and refugium Wednesday. UPS has my powerhead and overflow right now. I have everything plumbed and ready to go. I'll overnight the guy a money order and have the skimmer sent 2nd day. Hopefully I will get this problem taken care of soon. Thank you for all of your help.
Kick ass, that should help also i would recomend a good tank cleaning before you set it all up. loosten a lot of the algea into the water an scoop it out w/ a net, clean glass and do water change. what brand of overflow is it??
It's a CPR cs50 overflow. Is this good? I don't really know how there could be a difference in overflows -- they are simple machines with not much difference from one unit to the next (besides dual overflows and flow rates). I have been cleaning the front and sides almost every day. I have been reluctant though lately because I just took the carbon out and cleaning really dirties up the water. But I am buying a new carbon cartridge tomorrow.
no, CPR makes one of the best over flows. there are some others, but i wouldnt ever use them. w/ a refugium, skimmer and carbon filter you will eventually reach an equalibrium w/ the tank and once that happens
So, in your opinion, I should always run carbon? I know this has been the topic of much debate but I've never kept up with the argument. I have heard that it will suck out any additives that are dosed.
