Bubble Algae

Can anyone tell me what causes bubble algae to grow??
Also does Iodine help it to spread???

bubble algae is an algae it needs light and nutrients if you have these it will grow.

You have to have received either spores or another bubble and introduced it to your tank. It's a very common unwanted hitchhiker.

Iodine will not help it spread IMO.
The algae may be sequestering the Iodine even though it has no biologic use for it. This would probably make it taste bad and allow it to evade predators like tangs and crabs.
