Building sump in basement!

The hard PVC just carries the noise a little more.....Basically it amplifies it and it will travel. Most of the time pumps are actually the noise issue from not being secured and vibrating.
Acrylic51 and 2quills helped me out on my build and they suggested the spaflex. I love it. It connects to regular PVC fittings. So on my return I have spaflex to a union then that goes to reg PVC then to a double union ball valve. Then back to spaflex to the bulkhead. It was so easy to use.

I like it, because at times it can be a PITA to get the exact cut/length to make things fit, and this works like a charm!!!!!

So I didn't get my sump on Sunday because of the storm. I did however go to Lowes today and they do have the spaflex. That stuff is awesome! Just gotta figure out what size I need. I think I'll run 1" from the pump to the returns. Should I use 1 1/2 " for the two drains? Run two seperate drains all the way down to sump?

Good deal!!!! Make sure you pick up the right glue to glue your pieces together. I personally prefer to run separate drain lines to the sump.

Ok. What glue do I need? Should I run 1 1/2" drains? The drains are 1" but I would think I should run bigger.

I get mine from a specialty plumbing place and if I remember correctly it was Red Hot......Lowes carries Oatley and I think it Rain and Shine.....Corey would know the exact name of the Oatley, but I think that's what he said.....Actually Sweatervest 13 should chime in he just used it!!!!!!!
What pump are you using for your return???? If you have the space I'd use the 1 1/2" for the drains, but should be fine depending on pump choice with the 1" lines.....I'd keep them separate as well instead of combining them.

Oatley Rain or Shine pvc cement. Or home depot is now carrying the Christies Red Hot blue glue. Or at least they are down here. Either one should work fine.
I got spa flex from a pool & spa supply store. Lowes does carry it but good luck with them having the lengths and size in stock that you need.

This is the cement that the guy at Lowes suggested. Has worked great for me so far.
Habsfan let me know if you want to see pics of how I put together the spaflex connections. I also used a 1.5" drain line and then 1" spaflex for the return. You can get a fitting that goes from your Mag pumb to the spaflex and it screws on so you can service the pump if nesscessary. Mag36 eh? That should get water to the third floor. LOL
You can kinda see the connection for the return line. Let me know if you need a better pic. I can take one when I get home. Can't wait to see some pics of your progress. IDK if you know this or not but pics here are like candy at fat camp.

I don't see where it was mentioned but you don't need more than 2 - 3 X turover from your basement sump and a small pressure rated pump can do that quietly and efficiently.

So I got the sump today! Yeah!!! Here are some pics. It's a 90 that was used as a sump. It's only got two baffles. I'm thinking of removing them and making my own baffles. Any thoughts? I'm gonna build a table for it this week. It's drilled twice which is great. I can use one hole for my return pump and one for my water change pump
