Who said I was referring to torture as justification for 9/11?
Who said I was referring to terrorist to begin with, since terrorist don't have "national" interests?
Though I find it dangerous to say that torture is ok for us to do since they are doing it...last I checked most parents don't buy that excuse "but sissy hit me first!!"
Specifically, when another nation-state abducts one of our citizens that they accuse of anything - and then torture said civilian, without trail, etc, we have no room/right to defend said citizen anymore. If memory serves me well, this is on-going in Russia as we speak...and if we do have a right to defend said citizen, please explain to me how...
and without "we have nukes, we're the biggest superpower, etc" - most of us learned in kindergarten that might does not equal right

I went through an honor military school BY CHOICE from high school through College. I was in the air force cadet program when I was 12 serving in a search and rescue capacity for downed aircraft. Furthermore, I serve my country still. Question my ideas, how I came to those ideas, etc, all you wish, but don't question my devotion to, belief in, or service to this country - I might have done more than you.
Labeling me a liberal who doesn't believe in my country just because I disagree with your politics isn't just against this forums personal attacks policy, its also quite ignorant as you're completely unaware of Anything I've ever done other than a couple of posts I've made. Ad hominem attacks in logical debates are considered invalid for a reason. If you wish to have a logical debate and disagree, such is your right - but bear in mind you have no idea what i've done, nor where I've been to defend that right. And implying that I don't believe in this country is down right insulting.
And that being said, I still have no regrets having defended your right to say what you just did, however...uninformed it might have been.
If you'd taken half the time to read the thousands of posts I've made, developing an argument. That would make more sense.
Although you have my utmost respect for your willingness to risk your life in the service of your country and my appreciation. It doesn't mean you believe in the concept of American Exceptionalism. Case and point, (I'll use two just for good measure) Jack Murtha, and John Kerry.
My problem is your fail to address what makes us right, and only point to a commonly liberal argument as why we are not right.
And as for this whole "torture" business, we've done worse to friends while trying to figure out who shoe polished our cars. "Catipillars in boxes", Sleep deprivation, slapping in the face, and water boarding.
As for oh the bad guys might do it to us argument.
It didn't work when dealing with Japan, Germany, North Korea, Vietnam... This (another liberal concept) that somehow our actions are the reason these people are mistreating our soldiers just doesn't hold water.
