well i wont be redosing tonight...i figured at the most, i will be dosing once a day...i dont think i will test again tonight either...if i test again tomorrow night when i get in, then i will take those number and does again!
Will this be ok?
I'm not sure that i have much that uses the calcium...3 fish, GSP, LS,LR, skimmer, and canister filter...

Oh your right. If your calcium did not raise to near where it should have, we may need to check your magnesium. Calcium will not reach your desired level with a magnesium deficiency in the tank.
That's where the chemistry stops I swear!! LOL.

Sorry, I blended...
You are right when you say you do not have critters that will deplete your calcium.
Never mind all the rest, tomarrow, just post your new readings, and we'll go from there...

OK i just tested and again if i tested correctly, it looks like my levels dropped back down to 350 ca and alk is about 2.0 meq/l maybe a little higher but not much...again if tested correctly b/c i'm using Red Sea for the time being...
ca - 350
dkh - 2.0-2.2
ph - 8.2 - 8.3
so now that my levels are right back to were they were yesterday, should i again dose the same amount as yesterday?
thanks!

If it were me I would raise the dosage slightly to get your levels closer to natural sea water (~400ppm Ca). If raising the dosage doesn't have an effect over a weeks timeframe then I'd suspect that your Magnesium is low.
Don't try to fix anything overnight. You levels are fine so there's no hurry to raise them.

so are yo advising me to wait and just see what they are tonight and then take it from there? if low levels then dose again tonight?

IMO I'd pick a dosage, dose that amount every day for a week. Test levels at the end of the week and record the dosage and the levels and adjust the dosage from there.

Not if you pick a reasonable dosage. There's no problem with testing more often if you're nervous.

The recommendation on the bottle is just a starting point and you will have to determine what the actual consumption rate is.
