Hi everyone. I just completed a DIY calcium reactor and this is my first one so I am looking for some help and any ideas to the tuning of it. First the unit holds about 9lbs of media and its called Reborn. The circulation pump is an Via Aqua 1800 which I believe is a 480gph. CO2 is coming from a 20lbs bottle through a Milwaulkee regulator. I have it set at about 6 bpm and the effluent at about 35-40 dpm. The gate valve is wide open so I dont know if I should shut it some. The media is large so its not like its tossing it around. Here are my reading so far
2 days after setup:
Calcium in DT - 380 Reactor - 460
Alk 7
Amm - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 0
PH-8.2
Phos - .05
6 days later. Same time and same light settings
Calcium in DT - 400 Reactor - 540
PH 8.2
Alk 8
Seems like I may need to start leveling it off some. Want the DT to be at least 450 on calcium. Please let me know what you think my BPM, DPM and gate valve setting should be.
Thanks!!!!!
