how much and how often should i add calcium? the test kit i got seems like it went bad and dont know my parameters for calcium and i also do not have a sump so kalkawasser is out of the question right? what else should be added on a regular basis to maintain good water quality? and what else should i be careful about when adding? thanx

I'd recommend B-Ionic and follow the standard ml/gal dosage. Be sure to get some test kits soon because there is not real "standard dose". Every tank has different needs.

If you have a routine set for adding Ca and Alk I would continue to follow that. If you are really courious take in a sample to your LFS and have them test it then dose accordingly.

I add one heaping teaspoon of Kent turbo calcium ance a week. This has worked for the last year now. It puts my calcium level at around 450.
