How often would you dose kent's liquid calcium reactor in a 55 gallon tank? Once a week twice a week. This is a reef tank, no corals yet. But I plan on adding some next week.
Thanks

Depends on any demands. Need a test kit and maintain CA at 400-450. Check and dose accordingly. ONce you are at that level, check in a week and see if it goes down. If it does, you know you need weekly dosing.

I should have specified testing Carbonate (ALK).
IMO Liquid Reactor is an inferior product.

Kent's Liquid Reactor is pulverized Calcium carbonate and water. The grain size is so small that some Calcium and Carbonate can actually make it into the tank water and disassociate providing Calcium and Carbonate levels are low to begin with.
I believe it to be an inferior product because quite a bit of Magnesium is used to prevent the undissolved Calcium carbonate from forming crystals.
I think that in an established reef tank with very high Calcium and Carbonate levels, Liquid Reactor could actually cause these levels to drop...
