I can't seem to get a clear pic but three of them are growing on my live rock, looks like a little anemone. They are only on this one rock and they have been there for about 2 weeks now. I am worried that it might be aipstasia.
Thanks

That's what it looks like to me. If u touch it (with a net or something) does it suck into the rock? Does it have a stem?

If you don't have animals that eat shrimp, you could get a peppermint shrimp, ot two. They are social little creatures so like to be together but they do fight over one or two aptasia. They love it. I let it develop on my rocks in the bottom tank and give it to them They do fight over it. Before you get them. let a few more develop so they have something to savor for awhile. If you feed them too much during the day it will take them longer to eat the aptasia. If you can't get shrimp, keep after these guys on the forums and ask about other safe methods . They can become invasive. Don't use the calcium method unless you do a very little at a time ewhen lights are turned off . Keep asking, someone will share their method.

I touched it with a net, but it didn't seem to retract. I guess I'll let them grow right now and see what happens. I have peaceful fish so I will go with the peppermint shrimp remedy, I allways like to add more life to my tank.
Thanks

Elvictra, The shrimp will hide for a few days maybe. It will be more visible with another of it's kind, but can be added another time. My tank at one time, years ago was inundated with aptasia. they are the weed and scourge of an aquarium. Even had to take one off of a coral it tried to attach itself to. I got five peppermints, and within a week they had eaten all of the aptasia. They being new to the tank, must have eaten at night. Now when I feed them aptasia from my bottom tank, these latest shrimp fight over it. Had to buy more shrimp eventually. Found out that two of the reasons I never saw them was the Cardinal's were eating them at night. Then, after buying more, they still were very shy, but then removed and sold my Mimic tang back to LFS, now they are always out. Mimics are a really bossy fish. Always attempted to eat other fishes food before they could. Never will get another.

So how many pepermints should I get? I don't want to overcrowd my tank. I have a 75 gal tank with about 10 small fish (1 blue tang, 2 clowns, 1 yellow tank, 1 blennie, 3 cromis, 2 angels) I also just added some starfish and I have 2 shrimp (1 cleaner 1 fire). I know some have told me this is too many fish for this tank, but they are all very small and I will most likely start another tank in a few months and move some over.
Thanks

Three would do it. I know people who have a lot more fish in smaller tanks. They are not having such good luck though. Three small peppermints should do fine. My other shrimp do let them know when they want their space but they never have killed any of them. They all keep to their areas. If you put only one otr two in the established significant other shrimps may scare them to hiding. Three peppermints should be fine. Have fun! Give them time to adjust, however, mine eat daily and nightly.
