i've never been stung by a coral or anemone, and have never worn gloves.
i have been stung my a foxface, which hurt.
if you hve an open sore on your hand i would use gloves or not touch the corals.

Friend, I can see by the post count you are pretty new here. So first let me welcome you!
The discussion has turned to the toxins found in zoas. They are dangerous and even though we have not had a fatality, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I handled my coral with no ill effect too, but from now on I will wear gloves when handling zoas. Nothing else I have is dangerous.
It is however GOOD practice. Something we should do.

The more we get into this hobby, the more our houses look like drug labs...
Just thought I'd point that out.
LOL, I know. I keep waiting on the DEA to bust my door since my utility bill from running everything is probably so high like I was running a hydroponics lab in here lol.

But your not dead? I thought you said you touched all of yours before you read the article. If its not a scholar article I wouldnt belive it. I can go write an article saying meow is deadly
Will you believe me?
you can believe whatever you want to but the reality of this is true, there is many articles and people who will tell you the same thing about zoos. You can keep touching them if you like to roll the dice. I heard about a friend of a friend story where the zoos put him in a coma for a couple of weeks because he was handling zoos when he had small cuts on his hands. No joke. Somtimes people just need to trust what others tell them.

zoas wont sting your hand, just dont let any toxin in your eyes or open sores. their toxins will not penetrate skin!
and you shouldn't judge me by post count. :(
