Can Someone help out with drum brakes??

I was always tought that you adjusted then till you heard them drag,this is the way I did my beetle,always worked prety well,been doing it for ten years in the buisness,not saying this is the only way,and It doesn't explane your problem, it's like fixing a car on the phone hard to do when you can't put your hands on it

Thank you for the links. I have two manuals on the car and neither one says to press the pedal to realign the shoes. So that's where I was getting confused as I wasn't getting the results I should have.
The guys that write the manuals are the people that couldn't cut it turning wrenches. (some of them, anyway)

They already have a wear pattern matching the drum. They do not need to "re arch" as some people put it. Back off the ones that drag a click or two.

This will lead to excessive heat which can warp or crack drums. You need to back them off to avoid overheating.

drums are kinda an oddity in the buisness these days especially working for acura, so its been a while this way always served me well and im not talking about feeling it drag im talking about hearing it dragwith the wheel spining free off the ground, but like i said there are other ways

Thanks for all the help guys. I really hate to say this but when I get a chance I will back them off a turn or two. I am on OT right now so I get up at 2:45AM to be to work and start at 4:30AM.
Maybe I should be doing that instead of looking on here...........See Ya. Thanks Again.

I have been here. I had to pull the OT I told you about. So leaving at 3:30AM and getting home at about 4-4:15PM leaves me a bit on the sluggish side.
Will you please talk with me in my other thread about brewing? Easier to keep up with one thread.

Amateur.

When I found SWF I had to keep 3 windows open to keep up with posts in the aquarium, alone. Ahhh, the good old days....and I've only been here since '05.

Remember that nothng posted in the aquarium counts...
..........this means that some people have billions of posts.........
Look at lovethesea and ruaround's post count some time. They post almost daily since 2002 and have virtually no posts.

I'm always glad to help.
