Just spit firing here but I am going to say no. the tuna is cooked and though many are canned in water, you don't know how it was processed and what chemicals were used on it. I would imagine that it just cant be that good for your fish either. Like I said though, just guessing.

You want to feed your fish canned tuna.....for real, this is an honest question?

Wayne, I goggled your question...because I don't think anyone ever asked if they could feed their prize SWF tuna, apparently neither has anyone else in the world.
I know you will do whatever you want in spite of advice, so we might as well have some fun. So go ahead and do it, let us know how it went. I would use the stuff packed in springwater, not oil.

Flower, Flower, Flower, quit messing with Wayner, you know that you use the kind packed in oil.
Why would you steer this young man wrong? I'm deeply disappointed.

It might contain mercury but it can't hurt the fish too much, all our fish have been exposed in the lakes of Illinois and they live. Nobody has ever done it to my knowledge...wayner will do it anyway, so I was beng serious...you don't think he will dump the whole can in and hope the shark egg eats it? I would feel so guilty.

People have different opinions. I respect Bang Guy, however, I try to be a purist even in my own diet and would never feed canned tuna to my kids even because of the preservatives and the possibilites of heavy metal contamination. I certainly would not feed it to my fish. With so many healthy, easily accessible choices out there to successfully feed my tank, I would never even dream of feeding canned tuna.
Your crappy "I'll show you" attitude is why I personally try to steer clear of anything you post. This is evidenced yet again, in your comment above. When I saw you still around and posting, I was actually thinking you were here to learn something. Instead, you reaffirmed that you only want people to back up your ideas. I will put you back on ignore and will be alot less frustrated.

There seems to be quite a few of these types on here right now.. That is why 2 of them are on my ignore list. They just don't want to learn about SWF at all.. I have been researching for over a year now, and think that I am ready to set up my tank. I had thought about just setting up a tank and learning as you go, but then I found all the awesome advice that I get from the people on here and decided to wait until I felt that I had learned enough to move forward with setting up a tank. I now know that I will be better prepared to care for my tank and its inhabitants, and if I do run into a problem I will be better able to deal with it and have people that I trust that I can turn to that will give me Good, Honest and Truthful advice...

I can't believe this, but I actually have to defend Wayner, and we all know that he was on my "Ignore List" for quite some time, but he actually has been listening to advice lately.
That being said, I wouldn't dream of feeding canned tuna. The stuff in the pouch, maybe .. but never canned. The lining of most cans contains lots of chemicals and horomones that are causing much controversial debates as to whether or not they are harmful to a humans health. My thought here is that if there is a risk to it being harmful to something that weighs over 100lbs, it would have to be even more risker to give to something that is only a few pounds (if that) such as a fish.
Even just tuna and fish, no preservatives (which I don't think canned is going to offer, FYI), in a can is going to have this protective lining.

oh yea there is. Wayner and burrito are on my ignore list and wont come off it. I have no time for the moronicness of those imbiciles. I moved out of tenneessee to get away from that. Atleast here I dont have to move. All I have to do is click ignore.
