Can you frag a gaping mushroom?

As Bang Told me my mushroom is gaping (the middle is about the size of a dime and its in a oval shape). The other mushrooms on the rock ate krill tonight and are doing fine. They along with my other mushrooms are large and looking fine. If its going to die I would like to try to frag it. Can it be done????

Most people just take a razor blade and sheer it off but I use scissors, it won't die if you cut it

Cut it in half vertical or horizontal? I have never created a frag before. I noticed this morning it hasn't gotten any worse. Is this a good sign?

Fragging an unhealthy mushroom is taking a risk IMO. If you do try to frag it try to leave a healthy part of the foot on the rock.
I believe it's a good sign if it's not looking any worse.

Thanks Bang Guy,
I fed the other 3 mushrooms on the rock krill last night. They did a good job eating the krill and now this morning they are large and full color. The sick one is still oval shaped with the center a very light green color. The outside of this oval shroom is a darker green. I'm going to do a healthy water change tonight.
