can you keep a quarantine with just a bubbler and a filter

I have some spare 5 to 10 gallon tanks and wondering if I can use it as a quarantine with just a bubbler and a filter

I have done it often with sponge filters.

What do you mean by bioload
"Bio load" is the total of all the live organisms being supported by a system.

I run a HOB filter (use media from the established display), an air line (no stone) to circulate the water and break up the surface, no need for a power head...don't forget a piece of PVC or décor, to allow the fish to have a hiding place and feel secure...it also holds the air line down attached via rubberband. Macroalgae is a huge plus in a quarantine. I don't see bio-load being a problem, only one fish, or two very small ones at a time goes in a QT.

Thanks guys it's just that my dad had a lot of little tanks from his childhood (like father like son) and I will use them as quarantine

Some people quarantine EVERYTHING, and it's a good thing to do. I never did because I didn't have the extra lighting corals need to survive. However many corals (NOT ALL, I found out brain corals don't)...can be dipped in a coral dip before adding them to the display, to prevent bad hitchhikers like flat worms, or coral nibbling nudibranches.
