I believe that bta are in fact able to penatrate human skin with their neumatocysts. I wouldnt recommend touching.

It depends, if you are allergic, then NO!
But if you aren't, go ahead, i touched mine all the time when feeding it or working around it, that is if my tomato clown didnt bite me! It just feels sticky
But, the only way tofind out if you are allergic is to touch it, sooooo...

Buy some rubber gloves. You can get arm length ones at various aquarium shops. They come in very handy for cleaning the tank or placing frags, and you keep from contaminating the water with whatever might be on your skin (perfumes, antibacterial soap, etc.)

yeah i ended up using some rubber gloves and got it to where i wanted it. It actually took hold of the rock within minutes so i was happy. I put it somewhere that when i do move around some other frags i wont have to worry about it getting me

O?? Just wait, if he don't like where he's at, he'll just get up and walk around the tank, until he likes wheres he at, then he'll settle down.

Hey man, the odds of being alergic to the stings of an anemone are slim, so go ahead, TOUCH IT! :jumping: :jumping: :jumping:

You should be fine gloves are the best idea. I looked in my tank today and noticed my BTA was not in his normal spot i.e. were I put him when I got him he was behind all my rock work  I couldn't get to him so I thought oh well i'll just leave him....Well I came home tonight and he was right back were I put him originally I was amazed (stupid stressful anemone)!
  • p.s. TOUCH IT!! GO ON.....

what you should do is get one of your freinds that doesn't know to much about saltwater and make them touch it. that way if he/she doesn't die you get a little inspiration.

you should be fine. At LFS I used to work at I would just pick them up with my hand. Just watch out for the clown host.
