Can't find peppermint shrimp

Is there a chance that my peppermint shrimp are still alive?
About two weeks ago I added 2 to my tank. I saw one hiding the first night and haven't seen them since. Not even a molt. Is it normal for them to hide this long?

Depending on the size of tank, and When they are new and still small, yes....I have one in my 225G...I see it maybe 2-3x a month
I have 3 LARGE ones in my 54g...them I see daily

Thanks, I looked last night with a flash light and still didn't spot them
Their about half an inch long I'm guessing

I just put two in my 55 (about 1/2" or 3/4") and I usually only see "one at a time" when it wants to be seen. I have seen him actually surfing the water current

As for the "other one" haven't seen it since it got put in the tank. But I don't see a carcass either so I figure they are just messing with me.

Put a little cyclopeez in the tank. That usually drives mine out of the rocks...
