Titan, you can go back there we dont need you here its ok. And everyone at that site are B*&% to me.
Because you ask for advice from marine fish keepers that have been in the hobby longer than you've been alive, then turn around and totally disregard it, and do what you want anyway. I was just commenting on stuff I've seen in the hobby which is mulitple species only,FO,FOWLR tanks small to large with gaudy, messy predatory fish; in which trates at 8ppm or lower is just a fantasy.

hey cartmen
not tryign to flame you or start fights but
1. you said in numerous posts that your getting rid of your tank soon cause your going to college and belive me you cant keep a shark in college
2. where the heck are you getting a tank over 10,000 gallons for this shark?? and if you think your goignt o give him to a zoo or aquarium i would double check because 99.9% of them will not accept animals
3. a 125 will not house that shark very long AT ALL, so my point is are you hatchign a shark keeping it for 5-6 months then giving it to the aqaurium?? if so thats a bad idea and you should just wait till your older to get one IMO
4. you know most hatched sharks need to be tube fed, etc. etc. lots of special care it just doesnt come out of its egg and start eating or anything?? right??

Not to mention your triggerfish might not be so submissive to a big lump that putters around your SB.

On a fish related note you've asked about this shark egg, rays and you've heard the advice that is offered; just please abide by it. If you have the funds to aquire a 360GL tank that's 8'x3'x2' for a good long-term tank then giver.

hey there Cartman -
Good luck on the egg I know you have been wanting one for as long as I have been a member of this board so I am happy to see your are getting your wish
You stated that you are getting paperwork tomorrow for the public aquarium to take it when it outgrows your tank - how did you arrange that?
I have called all my LFS in the area to find out what to do with my Lion when it outgrowns the tank or just gets too big to stay in there with anything else and they all told me they dont take fish back of that size - so I was attempting to figure something out _ I would appriciate any info you have
Also as far as public aquariums not taking animals as posted I need to disagree with that I have a friend in New Orleans that donated all three of their tanks to the aquarium there

thats a totally different story when new orleans comes into play
also its different if somone says im getting rid of my animals and they will die if you dont take them or i have nowere to put them(wrong but reasonable) etc. etc. i can see MAYBE someone making arrangments for them but when a kid calls somewere and says hey im going to hatch a shark egg keep it for a year then give it to you guys o.k? i HIGHLY DOUBT any repuatable aquarium would say "ya sure o.k we would love for you to raise a little shark for us" i mean they pay people to do stuff like that at aquariums not outsiders and especially not a young kid.
bottom line and just my HONEST opinion but nobody should EVER buy an animal if you dont plan on housing it for life or ever getting rid of it..its plain cruel.. not trying to argue just stating the opinion im entitled too..

Ok fair point - Your right New Orleans is most likely not the best example - but it is cool that people are donating personal livestock to them!

Sounds like a good idea. I've noticed the advice you give to newbies on a few different posts.
