I have some carbon from my freshwater tank.....is this safe to use when I start my SW Tank? It says for FW use..... but on most other packages I've seen, are for both FW and SW. Not sure if it's safe, I just don't want to waste it if I don't have to since I no longer have the FW tank! Thanks Guys!! I love this site!

You need to test it for phosphate before you use it in saltwater. Put some of it in a container with some ro/di or distilled water over night and then test the water to see if the carbon leached phosphate if not you can use it.
Some carbon can be a source of phosphate that will promote nuisance algae growth.

So far this is what I have found...Have not found any reasoning yet, but I personally would not use it unless I was 100% sure it was SW safe
Impressive filtering performance from a dual-powered solution: Ammo-Carb's unique combination of highly activated Carbon and Zeolite ammonia remover for removing dissolved organics and ammonia. Ideal in freshwater environments only.

I thought that all carbon releases phosphate to some degree?
but to the op i personally wouldn't use the ammo-carb mix.

The last time I used carbon was some three years ago and at that time a coconut based carbon was the best it had clams of not leaching phosphate but I never used any I just stopped carbon use all together.
My RO/DI may have carbon in it and it is undetectable phosphate.
