Shorter wait times between PM's.
Agree
An "Advanced Hobbyist" section for more in depth questions to keep the inexperienced from answering incorrectly (this feature works great on other forums)
How does this work? Is there a barrier or do we just rely on the faux pas of commenting there?
Better explanation of each fish/invert/coral like the "doctors" have
This should be something that is easily fixed. Give it to the forum, peer approve, and put it on the site. Why haven't we done this?
The mods to step in sooner with certain ridiculous arguments.
I'm the root of a lot of these and sometimes the mods let it get a little out of control for good reason. If it can be fixed on its own, the problem won't come right back.
*this is still the best forum around though
My vote goes to fixing the stickies. Some stickies are great, but others aren't practical. I've recommended a few threads for stickiness and all I've gotten in return is disdain, torpor, and sardonicism...maybe I should try sending them to a different mod lol. This idea was originally spoken about by Reefkprz but I couldn't agree more with it.

Yes. On some forums the mods decide who knows what they're talking about. Some sites use "reefer raitings" like +1's and when you get enough, you're allowed into the advanced reefs section.

No, there is far worse than what you do. There's going to be arguing in "The Aquarium" especially in the political threads. But I've come across quite a few threads where people are giving their opinions and advice and then someone comes in and calls them a moron and the like. That's the kind of thing that I think the mods could do a better job with. And yes, I have complained. It's taken care of fairly quickly, but one person that I had an issue with, I've seen them do it to other people and the mods allow it.

OHHHH...I think they should get rid of the POST COUNT, and just leave member since there

I've been on forums that log the amount of time you spend on the site and display it. That could be a good sign of time spent/dedication/knowledge to the hobby/site.
It's kind of sweet, but at the same time it shows how much time you waste on the internet.

I think the mods have made some great adjustments recently. I've been getting the feel they've backed off a little to see how far we are going to take things... to see if we will govern ourselves a little and stay within the sites guidelines. There are indeed some different personalities around here lately to stir things up, but I think we can handle it without having to be micromanaged. If at anytime you want them to step in... PM them. IMO.

By the way...I want my moving avatar back. Now there's a change that 99% of the old timers on here would probably agree with...

BTLDreef - we can't be everywhere and read every word. I doubt it is "allowed," but more likely overlooked. If you see it, report it. Don't assume that we can be here 24/7 and read every word. That is impossible. We count on people to point some of this out. Even if we post in a thread, sometimes not every word is caught in the discussion.
This is always something where I would ask people to help out, not assume that we allow it or aren't doing the job. That sort of thing is where this gets really frustrating for me, because we can never do a good enough job for everyone...or we are too much for others. It is a fine line to walk. But every thread like this has something about the mods

Very often people can just point out that such a tone or comment is not welcome, and just ignore them from that point on. Many of those posters WANT a fight. And many of them get it unfortunately.
I can think of quite a few improvements. But I bet they'll come up with it soon enough...

Bigger PM storage?

I dunno dude, we get 100 messages, thats actually a lot if you think about it. I am part of another forum for Acoustic Guitars, we discuss different kinds of guitars and woods and playing styles and playing technique, but they only give 20 pm storage... which actually really sucks. Imagine if we had a 20 pm limit? I am actually thankful for a 100 pm limit
