chato not growing

I have had my chato for two months now. My prameters are perfect and I have a boatload of pods, but my chato is only grown 1/4 its original size. The grape algee is growing fine, am I just to impatiant.

I pull out about a 1/2 a 5 gallon salt bucket worth of Caulurpa every 4-6 weeks from each of my 25-30 gallon fuge(s)...along with the absorbed malnutrients...
I have not grown Chaeto, so I can't give a comparison, but I'm betting the average is much less...

youy dont think I have enough light on it?
And wouldn't I get enough iron from my weekly water change
I am just trying to look at it from all angels

Isn't that kinda weird...???
Everybody goes "Chaeto, Chaeto, Chaeto" when your building, but when it comes time to post results...like "How much you pulling, every couple weeks ??" it gets awfully quiet... :thinking:

I know I thought this would be anserd hours ago oh well I check back in around 2 am when I get off work

i put that kent iron one a week . if you have to put a lot of top off water in your tank iron can be low it won't hurt anything . the 51 k light works like a charm with 12 hours light on and the 12 hours light off.

I have had cheato about 3 months now and have only removed it once so far. I remvoed the same amount that you have in the pic above. I did pull half out, which prob. wasn't a good idea but i don't care. my toxic readings all seem to be in check. i also just had to cut off one of my 65watt pc bulbs because the one harnes was arching and need to replace it. so the cheato is just running off 65w of pc for the last 2 weeks and probably will for a while till i order another ballast. I also don't have that much flow but feel it is adequate for my DSB. i have the cheato right in front of the drain outlet so it does move but... it does not roll. I found some "fern" looking plants in with the cheato and this plant has grown all over my fuge, i like the look and don't plan on pulling it out till it causes problems.

is your light a 50/50 as well?

I think this topic could use a little more exposure...and a few more comparisons...
This is what I pulled out of my 27 gallon (algal scrubber) fuge on my reef...(today, just now)
I just did it 4 weeks ago, and had quite a bit more then, but I wanted to show the growth since then..
That's a 5 qt Ice cream bucket..

Im missing something here but I just cant imagine it would be the light
