cheap and easy moonlights

I just hung mine off of my light fixture with zip ties. My tank is in a spare bedroom so looks aren't important. It is viewable from the living room side only, so none of the equipment is seen.

check out what I found. this is a night light the whole screen lights up blue or green 2 for 5$ I'm going to try these (I actually had them already this thread reminded me of them) I'll see if I can rig them up tonight and get some pictures, they have a softer glow than LED so I'm thinking it will be a more subdued light. now I cant wait for the sun to go down........

Ok ,I opened it up...now what??? LOL The "blades" are soldered to the motherboard. I am going to cut the blades and solder an extension cord wire to it then link the other 2 lights with wire. :scared:

OK , I have 2 of 3 hitched up...(dont ask) My tank is 24" deep...Not a very bright LED. If your tank is shallower it may work.. Im not 2 impressed.

I agree, for the price very cool.
These are my first moon lights.. I was thinking they would be brighter...... but they do look very subtle... Not sure if I need BRIGHT moonlights.

i just got to see them for the first time....they are not the brightest but they have a good pattern and a good color to em...worth three dollars. But I already have 24 leds hanging over my tank so I really dont need to much more......LOL
I just thought they were cool looking. I am gonna get a couple of the red ones for my bathrooms and hall at night. I think they are neat.

Here is mine on the tank. My water is uber cloudy due to the newly added sand, but I will post night pics of it tomorrow.

do you think some of the reason yours are not so bright is because you covered the bulb with magic marker? I put mine on and I think they are really bright. I think the permanent marker kinda defeated the purpose a little. Get a blue one and try it out.

wassup cyclops....Yeah both tanks are doing fine. And yes I did sell my coralife on egay. Got more for it on there that what I was asking here for it. The new reef devil I got is incredible. I will never ever buy any other kind of skimmer again unless it is ETSS downdraft. They are so easy to use and you can almost hear the water scream as it gets shredded in the tube....LOL
