Chemi Pure Elite - Where??

I purchased some chemi-pure elite and got the 11.74 oz. jar - well it's so big it doesn't fit in my filter media area anywhere. It says not to split the bag up. I have the JBJ 28 gal Nanocube and use the middle area for my filter floss, purigen and carbon. I was hoping to replace the carbon with the chemi-pure but it's too big - any suggestions????

I have the JBJ too.....I took out the filter tray that came with it.....it was too limiting....I just place stuff in a filter bag in the ctr compartment

in the center compartment I only have the media there. like meowzer (had to rephrase that Lol...) I put my chempure elite in the middle compartment.

So you just take that tray out and get a big filter bag and put everything in it without the tray? I'll give that a try and see how it works. Thanks for the info.

When I want to run media in the sump I place a mesh bag with it over the hose leading from the main tank into the sump so water flows throught it (I have flex hose, not PVC pipe)

No..... take out the tray with your filter pad on it.. Place the Chempure Elite inside, then put the tray back on top of it. Thats how I did it anyways

Okay, now I understand. I'll give that a try and see how it works. I'm just having so much fun with this tank. I am always looking at it when I'm home and I see new stuff all the time.

I finally added the Chemi pure like Kiefers suggested and the water is looking good, but have another question. Right now I'm using sponge, purigen and carbon in the tray on my tank. I did get some filter floss - I'm assuming I use that in place of the sponge, is that right? and also now that the chemi pure is in there, do I take the carbon out of the tray or just leave it??

Personally the only media I run is, (in order from top to bottom).... filter media to catch food and other free floating organics, under that some floss, and my chemi pure elite. My logic is this, the more junk my media can catch, the less crap that gets stuck in my bioballs, the better.
By chance, do you have a phosphate test kit? If no, I would recommend getting one.
Sounds like your on your way!

Okay sounds like a plan. I do have a phosphate test kit and have been testing, so far so good with that. I keep a log and so far everything has been in the proper parameters. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it that way. Thanks again for the help and have a great weekend.
