Chocolate Chip Star - How Do They See

They can't see. Some Brittlestars can tell light & dark from organs on their arms but they can't really see.
Your starfish can sense the food particles in the water when you feed. Almost all carnivores can do this.

i have a chocalate starfish and my LFS told me that they just graze on algae, is that true? u guys seem to be talking about feeding the beauties. I mean, I am one to believe that all animals need a nutritious diet but the LFS was stricked with sayign that it would be a waist of time and money to feed the creature.

Most starfish eat meat.......as stated.....they "smell" and they have photo sensors on each arm so that although they can't really see, they can tell differences in light.

Your LFS is wrong. Chocolate Chip Stars are carnivores.
