2 mths ago i just bought a toshiba a135-s4467 ( there are a few models in your budget.) awesome awesome awesome!!!
take a look i got mine on sale at circuit city for 850 (not promoting circuit city) so also lok at best buy

OK, I have the final word that will sway over to a Mac,, CLOSE YOUR EYES and think, how beautiful and wonderful it will be having your APPLE LAPTOP in COMMUNICAE with your new APPLE IPHONE that are fully compatible without having to install any software. UPLOADING movies and songs through IMOVIE and ITUNES. What a delight, you no matter what PC people say, you know their gonna make it much easier for MAC users.

a lot of people complain about MAC prices ( i agree to some extent ) but MACs are powerful, easier to use IMO, they can also run windows if u like (parrallels on my Mac Book), and they look awesome
i also have a DELL inspiron which is ok but my mac is way better. The only problem with a MAC when you want to open or run a PC file. Parrallels helps a lot with that because you can switch back. If you want a MAC tho i recommend waiting a while, save some more money, and wait for the new OS Leopard coming out. cant wait

and for all you people that say MACs are bad and PC's are the only way to go, you are just stuck with the disease. I have XP on my MAC and OS tiger and on my PC i have Vista (wish i still had XP on that one...) There is no reason to dislike a MAC. Oh, and if you are a photoshop freak like me... You cant get Adobe creative suite CS3 delux on a PC can you?
