Christmas fish?

Ok, my grandma has said that she will get my brother and I a critter apiece for my tank for Christmas. He is almost 2 and really seems to like Banghai cardials, so we are going to get one of them for his choice, but I can't seem to make up my mind.....
I'm torn between a mandarin dragonet, a second ocellaris clownfish, a firefish, a falco hawkfish, a sixline wrasse, a midnight angel, a red linckia star, a black longspine urchin, a lawnmower blenny, or maybe just some new additions to my cleanup crew
The tank is a 29 gallon reef in progress with 2 yellowtail damsels, an ocellaris clown, a condy anemone, a serpent star, 10 or so nassarius snails, and 5 or so cerith snails. Help me narrow this down please!

Most of what you listed....combined with what you had IMO would not work in your tank
you and your btother share a tank? so the banggai is going in this same 29G?
If so...maybe get the Banggai and some more cuc.....maybe a peppermint shrimp, an emerald crab, a turbo snail (1)

No, it's my tank, he just likes to watch the fish. He's a baby, she just wants to get him something to make her feel better about herself I suppose. Also, not to sound rude or anything, but what did I list that wouldn't work? In the nano section a while back, I listed my plans for the tank and everyone said it would work just fine and go for it...I don't want to buy anything that will be self-destructive for my tank. Thank you!

Mandarin, linckia, and urchin will need bigger tanks to survive long-term. Lawnmower may starve in that small of a tank, while most eat prepared foods they still need algae, same as mandarin and pods. Six line may be too aggressive for the tank. The firefish and hawk should work depending on the aggression of the existing damsels(I'd sell the damsels due to aggression issues). Clown should work but the existing clown will let you know real quick if it was a bad idea.

Thank you! The damsels are completely un-aggressive. They don't care about anything in the tank, just keep to themselves. I read up on the falco hawkfish earier and decided against it, because apparently they are a lot more aggressive than I want to risk. I think I'll get a new clown, a little bigger than the one I have. SO the tank plan will be:
2 ocellaris clowns
banggai cardinal
2 yellowtail damsels
2 firefish (eventually)
3 chromis (maybe)
condy anemone
serpent star
New cleanup crew (when I have the money)
Any suggestions as to anything else I could add for more color?

You could try a goby of some type. Those are pretty neat!

Also, how long did you say your tank has been set up?

If you are going to buy another clown, do yourself and it a favor and make sure it's smaller than the one you currently have.

Also, if your going to get some green chormis watch out!! My anemone eats those every chance he gets! You may want to just hold out on the green chroims

Ok, no green chromis, and I'll get a smaller clown then. Thank you!
Also, I am going for pajama cardinal instead or banggai because my LFS can't get them since Sulawesi put them on the endangered list. And my tank is a complicated story! It has technically been setup for 3 or 4 years, but the tank itself has been up for about 9 months.
I started with a 12 gallon tank with 10-15 lbs of rock and 20 lbs of sand. Then I got a 55 gal and filled it with about 45 lbs or rock and 40 pounds of sand. Then the 12 crashed so I moved everything into the 55. The 55 was established for about 3 years I think, and the 12 went for a good year before I got the 55, and another 6 months or so after I got it. Then I moved, and I compressed the 50-60 lbs of rock and the 60 lbs of sand into this 29 gallon tank, so it is well-established and very mature.

10 fish is way too much for a 29 gal tank.
Here is what I suggest
the clown you have, one smaller then what you have
the two damsels
the pj cardinal
a small sand sifting gobie or a bi color blenny.

I agree. I'm pushing it with five; two clowns, royal gramma, yellowtail damsel who used to be nice but changed her mind so watch out, a blue spotted jawfish, and a mandarin because I have a 20 gallon sump, making the tank more like a 49 gallon. What's your filtration like?
If it's anything like mine, which isn't even the best but it's better than just the 29 water-volume wise, I'd say you could probably add ONE firefish to the list Teresa gave. I love blennys and was going to get one, but replaced it with my jawfish on the list (havn't gottem him yet though). I highly reccomend them, especially since you have 60 lbs of sand, meaning one HUGE sandbed. Even the plain white ones have sooo much personality!

I don't have a camera that's worth poo, so no pictures, but next time my girlfriend comes over I'll get her to bring hers.
My filtration WAS an Emperor 400, but it crapped out and won't start back up, so now it's just a stock 30 gallon filter. I know, it's terrible. I'm working on fixing it up, but no money means no anything else.
The sand bed really doesn't seem that huge to me, but it is 60 pounds.
Thank you for your help! I would have hated to have bought more fish than the tank can handle and all of them die!
Could I get away with 2 pj cardinals? I read that they like to hang out in groups, but if one would be ok I would be fine with just one.
Also, what kind of goby would you recommend?

Alright! Thanks! So the new plan is:
2 yellowtail damsels
2 ocellaris clowns
1 (or 2?) pj cardinal
1 (maybe 2?) firefish
I know for sure that 2 cardinals and 2 fires would be too many, but would 2 of one or the other work out?

I'd def go with two cardinals (Bang. or PJ's) they really are much better in pairs or groups, and will be less shy with a "buddy".
One firefish is great.

Hehe, no problem! Yeah, 4 gallons really isn't much difference, I agree.
And that sounds like a plan! Thank you!
