Setting up the 72 gallon... I am finally getting around to setting up the 72 gallon tank i bought back in febuary or march.
Here it is sitting empty...
I am using the closet space behind the tank for my sump. This pic is of the un-glued plumbing before i added union ball valves before and after the return pump.
here are my return lines to the tank. I used both holes in the overflow as drains and hung my 3 returns on the back. The middle one is a 3/4" sea swirl
When i leak tested the plumbing yesterday i found a small leak around the bulk head at the sump. I went to tighten it and it cracked the glass. So i sealed off the union ball valves and pulled out the pump and sump. Instead of waiting around for my new sump to get drilled i figured i would at least put in all of the live rock i had collected and at least get the tank started to cycle. Here is all of the live rock (most of which i dried out to kill anything i didnt want in the tank)
I ended up haivng a lot more rock than i needed. Which is good because we can save it for my fiances 75 gallon. Here is my tank right before i added the water.
Next thing to do is get my sump put back in the system and figure out how to work the aquacontroller jr i just picked up
