with 144 watts of power compact lighting (50/50) on a 20 gallon tank. can i keep a maxima clam? the tank is all glass about 15-17inches in dept form teh surface of the sand to the surface of the water. the light itself is another 3 inches from teh surface of the water. there is no cover between the water and the lighting. what do you guys think?

Hey slothy, I live in Clawson, MI and was wondering what LFS you think is the best in this area? Also I just noticed that a new one is opening up on 14 mile between livernois and rochester.

The Maxima will probably do OK at the top of the rocks, but then you won't be able to see any color because of the angle. I second the Squamosa verdict. You can send it to me in 4 - 5 years when it outgrows your tank ;)

Id say the maxima would be alright, its a 20 gallon so the tank is not to deep and you have about 7.2 watts per gallon which is very good, I would ask ryebread because I think im not sure that the keeps a maxima and has a VHO setup but not sure. ask him.
