Are these a type of cleaner clam and if not can they be.

Aren't all non-photosynthetic clams considered to be cleaner clams?? They are all filter feeders.

They are everywhere down here just gotta look and ask. I can think of at least 11 I can go to right now within a 30 min drive

Maybe Im being NIEVE bu i was expecting to see these clams in water the clams I saw when I went to my local windixie were in a bag on a tray with about a half inch of water and ice.
I bought them because more than half of the bag was filled with clised clams.
How would you acclimate these?

Just float them for a while till they can adjust to the temp

i got mine at albertsons, they were just sitting on ice, and you just need to acclimate them.

The ones from the grocery store are definitely cold water clams.

They are cold water clams, but I have never had any problems with them. My reef stays between 79 and 81 degrees. I have about a half dozen in my tank and they are going on 6 months with no deaths. As far as accilamating them I fill a mug with tank water and put a clam in each mug until it splits. You will know because the water will no longer be as clear.
