temp and salinity really only things needed to match up. If you are having high nitrate problems, I'd fix that first before adding anything. Many do not test for iodine as quality salt mix and water changes replenishes your iodine levels (for the most part). IMO you do not need to add iodine at all. You may read that shrimp need iodine to molt. This is true however, they don't need more that is already found in your salt mix.
