Cleaner Shrimp and Nitrates

You should acclimate until the salinity in for the new matches the salinity in your tank the wait a short while. If you did this slow then your wait is almost 0min. It took 3 hrs to do my Copperband with a slow drip until the salinities matched.

Is salinty the only thing that matters? What about temp, nitrate, iodine, etc.? Or do I only check salinity and I am done with the drip portion?

temp and salinity really only things needed to match up. If you are having high nitrate problems, I'd fix that first before adding anything. Many do not test for iodine as quality salt mix and water changes replenishes your iodine levels (for the most part). IMO you do not need to add iodine at all. You may read that shrimp need iodine to molt. This is true however, they don't need more that is already found in your salt mix.

No matter which salt mix? I am using Instant Ocean.
