Cleaner Shrimp Question

Maybe this should be in the Nano section, if so I'm sorry!
I have a 15 high, with no life in it at all, other than the corals. It has been running since about July 08. So 2 weeks ago, I put a small cleaner shrimp in, and I only saw it the first day, then gone! I have not see it yet.
Any ideas of what could have happened to it? I mean, it's gotta be a gonner, but how? Like I said, there is nothing else in there except a small blue leg hermit. I have heard no clicking for me suspect a mantis. Im just curious I guess. I don't want to put anything else in there to just be possbly killed, ugg.

Corals will eat small shrimp if they get a chance to. I witnessed it in my tank. Shrimp lasted about 3 hours and got stuck in a polyp. I tried to rescue it, but it was too late. Everything in the tank is a killer if presented with the right opportunity. Could have just died though and the crap took care of the rest.

I followed the directions from this site / drip. Bad luck I guess. I am nervouse to put anything else in there. I put a little clown in there a couple months ago that did not survive either. All the coral is doing well though.

I had a small cleaner that I dripped for about an hour.
I put it into my tank and went to pathmark. by the time I got home, it was sucked into a powerhead. Maybe it was weak and the same thing happened.

Nah, I have been fine with the nitrates, not positive of the number, but they are fairly low. Thank you for the additional info!
