New to site and new to the hobby.
Received a phone from the wife the at the cleaner shrimp was "cut" in half and our hermit crabs were feasting.
Fish in tank: (2) ocellaris clown fish, (2) pajama & (2) bangai cardinals, (1) kole tang, (1) naso tang
Also, (1) fire shrimp and (1) tuxedo urchin, (15) hermit crabs and (10) snails
Any idea what would have attacked the shrimp? Could I replace with another cleaner shrimp.
tank is 125 gallons with about 110lbs of live rock. It is a reef tank.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer

Maybe it fought with the urchin and we see who won...do u have a powerhead? Maybe it got in there and was cut up. Remove dead creature asap and wait a day and check parameters...if still good, yes you can get another cleaner shrimp.

Welcome to the site....are you sure they were eating the shrimp or his dicarded skin after a molt?

no powerheads. I will certainly check when i get home to see if it was discarded. He molted about 6 days ago.

I was told it looked "meaty" and she hasn't seen the cleaner shrimp other than what we assume is the dead shrimp.

Any idea how old the Shrimp was?
It's rare for something to kill a Shrimp and not eat it all. I'm leaning toward it being dead before it was taken apart.
