Thanks adamz. I put him in today and he is making many friends in the tank by cleaning his tankmates. Hopefully, he will tackle the ich on the hippo tang.

Very few Cleaner Wrasse survive more than a few months. They simply starve in a captive environment withought a lot of large fish to clean. They do not cure Ick. They may make a fish feel a little better but they can't cure Ick.

They do not however do anything for fungal infections. Where did you get this information?
Fungal infections are actually uncommon in saltwater systems. In huge systems with multiple fish to service, a cleaner wrasse has a chance of living, but in many home aquaria, they perish.

i was in hyposalinty for 4 weeks and it did not clear any of the spots on the naso tang and several days after the cleaner wrasse was put in the tank he cleared all the spots on the naso(we used a refractometer to measure salanity to 1.09) and the cleaner wrasse is not just eating the ich he eats any food that is put into the tank(mysis, flake, formula 1, shrimp, etc...)

It probably would have worked if you had put the Tang in Hypo instead.
I'm glad your Cleaner Wrasse is eating anything you put in the tank. That is not a common occurance and you are very lucky. Unfortunately it seems that none of the prepared foods have the nutritional equivalence as fish slime (Cleaner Wrasse food).
Cleaner Wrasse definately remove the external parasites off fish, this doesn't cure Ick though.
Anyway, I'm still happy for you that your Tang is well.

You got extremely lucky Adamz. Fact is cleaner wrasse should be left in the ocean and no one should encourage their capture. 99% do not eat anything but parasites such as ich and soon die. No responsible LFS will sell them. Besides their horrible mortality rate in captivity, their capture further wrecks the reef ecosystems as entire populations of fish move elsewhere and denude a reef of fish when the cleaner wrasse they depend on is removed.
People, do your research on things before you make announcements and give advice. I got lucky with a mandarin that eats cyclopseze but you will never see me recommending them to everyone else just because I got lucky with one(and it was research and 6 months of patience more than luck actually). Same goes for cleaner wrasse which have a much more dismal survival rate than mandarins. DONT DO IT!

Can anyone post a picture of a cleaner wrasse.

Cleaner Shrimp are good, as are Neon Gobies which are smaller but look similar to cleaner wrasse. I believe that this site sells them.

I've tried 3 and all have perished with 2 weeks. To be fair I think the 3rd one ran up into the powerhead,.
