Dear hobbyist,I have a Cleaner Wrasse in my 150 gallon aquarium which I have had now for about two years . It likes to eat brine, mysis ,marine cuisine, formula one, and likes to eat parasites off of my queen angel ,harlequin tusk, and tangs . I don't see what its nibbling at,but the fishes allow it to clean them off . Sometimes ,the cleaner wrasse can be a bit of a pest, and gets chased away .

Why not just get a Cleaner Shrimp instead of a Cleaner Wrasse? Cleaner Shrimp are cheaper and they live sooooo much longer and also clean fish.

I have both cleaner shrimp and cleaner wrasse and I can tell you that the wrasse is way more effective. The shrimp wait for the fish to go to them for cleaning and some fish just don't do that. Like I've never ever seen my trigger or dogface puffer go to get cleaned. The cleaner wrasse on the other hand, it goes after the fish. It's always pestering and cleaning the puffer and trigger, plus all the other fish.
Also, cleaner shrimp cost 2x more than cleaner wrasse.

I have had my cleaner wrasse for more than a year now. He is very interesting. He does annoy the fish but they all come to him at times. He will also nibble on me if I stick my hand in. He actively eats mysis and brine shrimp too. I don't think they should be taken from the wild but it was my tank or the fish shops.

If you still have the Wrasse a year from now please let me know. I did not think Tangs had enough slime to feed a Cleaner Wrasse. If yours is still alive this time next year then I may change my mind.

Had to remove both cleaner wrasses today. Would not stop picking on my Guineafowl Puffer. They where stressing him out terribly! Both social deviants are now in the sump. Looks like back to the LFS they go! Too bad, too sad!
