Clown Boy REVEALED!!!

College is not for everyone. The people who will tell it is, are in fact people who have wasted 60-70k on an education. The same people are angered when some dummy like me gets promoted and they do not because I am more educated on a particular subject and they wasted there time taking liberal arts and feel good classes.
If getting a degree makes you feel good, more power to you. If not, know what you are talking about, work hard and do what you say. Good Luck

Wow, really weird when every statistic you see says the opposite. I guess your 'real world' experience superceeds statistical principle.

That last one is the most credible - but what do those yahoos at the BLS know...
Although i agree, college isn't for everyone and there are definately people out there making good money without a college education, to say it is the norm is totally contrary to what the numbers tell us.

I hate to get all fired up about this subject, so i'll drop it. I just dislike when people post how they make the big bucks (when i'm sure they do) and make is seem like it is the norm. It is not the norm, and to elaborate more on what ren said earlier, although you may make a lot within one company / industry if you want to make a lateral move to another company w/o a degree it would be very difficult (and still keep the same pay).
I'm done, i'm off my high horse - the BLS knows nothing, THEY KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (insert Jim Crammer rant). I just dislike people saying things as if they are factual, when they are not.

Please, I didn't start this thread to start an argument. I only started it to give the long-awaited answers to a few questions.

By the way, I'm not talking to you, Lex. I mean everyone in general.

Haha i know, well you are just not talking to me, but everyone :) I just had to throw that out there because it was incorrect. I'm done though with the arguement because your right, this is about you. Whatever you choose i wish the best of luck to you.
No matter what i am amazed of the maturity you've shown (from what i've read) for your age.

Thank you.
That's what happens when you spend your time around mature people, instead of your peers.

LexLuther If you read my post I did not say it is the norm, anywhere. I am glad you are off your soap box. I did not bother to check on any of your internet statistics although I am sure they are plenty accurate

All I am saying is that if you make the right choices and work hard you will do well. Just for your info I do work at a fantastic fortune 500 company with some of the finest engineers in the medical device industry of which we are the world leader. I have learned plenty from them, including the fact that an ivy league education does not mean you will be able to apply those skill to real life. I build and design automated production equipment and I have recruiters calling once a week looking for people from my department. I don't think I will have any problems and I definitely will not make any lateral moves.
Like I said, school it is not for everybody. Obviously it was for you and I assume a guy like me has swooped up a promotion out from under you. See ya at the top.
Good Luck

I have to say that I think your perspective is largely a product of your age (immaturity). Here is a fact... ALMOST EVERY 15 YEAR OLD THINKS THEY HAVE NO USE FOR SCHOOL!
This being said, you seem to be relatively bright and articulate. However you are also gambling on a feast/famine industry and not leaving yourself any other option other than to make it big or struggle for the rest of your life.
From your previous posts you seem to be pretty naive in the ways of the world, no offense. I think that finishing high school and pursuing a college degree could provide more than just an education for someone like you.
Either way, wish you the best. But the people here giving you advice have seen a lot more life than you have. You would be wise to listen.

No offense, but I think the advice of my parents is more important...
Yes, I believe an education is very important. But I don't believe that education has to be the way the world sets it to be.

And as I have said again and again, I am getting an education. I am taking algebra, and I know my grammar, math, and the rest of the basics.
