i have had 4 pairs of clowns for almost a year now. Over the last month they have all been fighting and killing one another off. just yesterday my tomato clowns ganged up and killed my clark clowns. I am down to 3 now. 2 tomato clowns and one skunk clown that hides in the anemones.
why would they turn on one another after a year? I havent added anything new to the tank for several months.
if anyone has any insight, please help.

Clowns are territorial. They do not like other species of clowns. It might have been just very lucky that they tolerated each other for a year. Maybe they just reached their boiling point with each other.

Clowns get very territorial and agressive when maturing and is why you are not supposed to mix clown species along with only two to a tank .
