I have seen a couple of these at a lfs we visited once, I'm sorry I can't remember the name, they are rare if I remember correctly.
I'm almost positive its not a saddleback.
Here is a picture of a Clarkii-

apparently everyone has different ideas on what it is. from what i see from many websites(both commercial and informational) and books there is not one that perfectly resembles it. some sebae and clarkii's color does resemble it but their shape is far off, and then again many anemone fishes have these same color pattern-black with white band and yellow tips, pectoral fins (and tails sometimes). i do think its overall body shape and face does resemble that of a saddleback, but the saddleback should only have one front band. its second white "stripe" only runs from the posterior dorsal fin to middle of its body, not a band that wraps around (thus called the saddleback) they also lack the yellow tip and pectoral fins. perhaps it might be a type of saddleback like pferboy suggested, or perhaps a hybrid of it. fish common names, especially when it comes to anemonefish, are often misused or inconsistent, and i definitely would not readily etch in stone what lfs people prescribe. pferbay or anyone else...if you can get the scientific name of this anemonefish and a viable source for it please let me know. for whatever reason not knowing the concrete id of this fish is bugging me more than sggavin probably is concerned...

did a quick search on the web on barrier reef clownfishes and came up with a few sites that shows it as a more laterally flattened and oval shaped fish like clarkii's. also shows a more perfectly vertical white stripe pattern rather than one like the picture shown. also more brown than black, definitely did not look like any type of saddleback...might just be a erroneously used name. i think i have too much time on my hand...things biology teachers do on their off days i guess.

I have one as well, it's a black saddleback clown. For some reason the black saddlebacks have a stripe running all the way down. But if you look at the stripe, it follows the fin like a saddle. Also, if you watch them swim, they have all the tendencies of a saddleback (they swim like they are bucking)
Here's a pic of mine

The closest match I can think of is Saddleback. Clownfish have different color variations among the same species, and there is definitely possiblity of hybrid. Its face looks kind of irregular in shape and its boby shape is somewhat between percula and clarkii. There are always new/uncommon species of clownfish flowing into the market. hope this helps..

its definantly not a black perc....they have more longer and skinnier bodies, smaller eyes and a different dorsal than this fish.

I'm glad this thread was brought back from the dead, because my clown looks exactly to that one. I didn't think mine was a black perc, but thats what the lfs called her. So, ok I have a black saddleback. Its a good thing I didn't try to pair her up with a percula baby.
